Our activities
Our classes are suited to those that are intimidated by a gym environment, or those that prefer the more social aspect of group exercise experienced in a local community venue. We avoid mirrors and embrace people of all shapes and sizes, male and female, although we really wish more men would come along!
We understand that attending an exercise class for the first time can be daunting for many. That’s why we will welcome newbies with care and attention, and provide them with a real fun experience, which hopefully will lead to a new and health boosting exercise habit.
Our instructors are a mix of volunteers and freelance. We’re always interested in adding classes to our schedule, ideally in new locations. Please get in touch if you fancy joining us as a group exercise-to-music instructor.

About us
We strive to make fitness fun, social, and convenient in Derby.
We do this by running a variety of accessible exercise-to-music classes in community venues across Derby and surrounding areas. We only choose classes that are real fun such as Zumba, Clubbercise, FitSteps and Pound.
Started by husband and wife duo Kev and Ellie Flinton in 2011 the pair set out with the simple mission of “putting the fun back in to exercise” to help people get healthier in a friendly environment.
Over time, class attendees stepped forward to become instructors to increase the number and choice of classes. In 2019 we converted to a Community Interest Company when we realised that our primary function was, and still is, to serve the community and help solve the wider inactivity problem that creates serious health problems.
As a CIC we have supported projects lead by Derby City and South Derbyshire councils, Sport England’s Active Derby, and Derby County Community Trust.
